Shoot and Learn with DB

My great friend, and fellow photographer, David Burke has been hosting Shoot and Learn sessions recently, you can click here for all of the details. David and I have a blast at weddings, so when he asked me to be a guest speaker at one of his sessions, I was thrilled!! I will speaking on workflow, specifically Lightroom, and how I use it to process my images. I will also be showing some of the new, really awesome features of Lightroom Beta 2. We will be meeting next Tuesday, June 3rd at 6:00pm at his studio in Mt. Lebanon and anyone is welcome!!

Tara & Mike

Tara and Mike were married at Carnegie Museum and held their reception in the Music Hall Foyer.

I love detail shots, although I'm fairly certain Tara didn't wear her shoes.

Mike's reaction to Tara as she walked down the aisle was priceless. Image by Craig.

From a lighting standpoint, the Hall of Architecture is preferred over the Grand Staircase for a ceremony.

I don't know what it is about this image, but I love it.

How could I go wrong with a bride like this?!

Mike was wonderful, I didn't have to prompt him at all and I loved the way he put his hand on her waist and around the back of her head.

Having fun with Tara's veil, I love long veils!

We were working the last bit of sun and it was BEAUTIFUL. Craig caught this image as they were looking towards me.

This was unprompted, they were walking down the hill when I saw the light and asked them to stop for a moment.

The wedding cake was gorgeous, and delicious!! Parkhurst does an amazing job, all of the food is wonderful.

These guys were a blast at the reception!

In my (ever so humble) opinion, Tara assembled some of the best wedding vendors in Pittsburgh. You cannot go wrong with any of these fabulous vendors.

Make-up: Lisa Johnson - Kiss and Make-up
Florist: Megan Rumshock - Fragile Paradise
Bakery: Parkhurst
Entertainment: Jeremy Ganss
Colors: pink, champagne, tan, green
Flowers: hydrangeas, light pink ranunculas, hanging amaranthus, roses, spray roses, bear grass, parrot tulips

And a special thanks to my gorgeous husband, Craig. This was our first wedding together since last year and, once again, he amazed me with his images.

Michelle & Tim - Slideshow

Michelle & Tim

Michelle and Tim were married in a beautiful Vietnamese Tea Ceremony at the home of Michelle's aunt.

I was honored to document such a special, and emotional, event.

The exchange of rings.

Michelle and Tim are the nicest, most genuine people that I have ever met. They were so happy!

Gorgeous bride!

I think that this was my favorite image from the day.

Michelle is in medical school and they plan on moving to Utah soon, best of luck guys!

Lauren & Chris - Slideshow

Lauren & Chris

Had a great time yesterday with Lauren and Chris in Oakland for their engagement session. They will be married on August 8th.

These two were so fun and so easy and thankfully it didn't rain!

I think that this shot would make a great 'save the date' card.

I can't wait to see Lauren as a bride, she's gorgeous!! Lauren is a NICU nurse at Magee, I have had several NICU brides and I am in complete amazement at how they care for those tiny, sweet little babies.

I love the way the sun was shining through the trees.

Thanks guys, I can't wait until the wedding!

New Feature!

I decided to add a new category to my blog called 'bridal tips.' Of course there are a million bridal websites, but I thought I would just post some of my favorite things regarding weddings. I've added it to my labels on the left so that you can easily access them at any time.

I came across a wedding website that has a lot of great tips and ideas, www.weddingbee.com.

The current post on the Wedding Bee, led me to the Perfect Table Plan website. How many of us have wasted countless hours struggling with our seating plan? I love their concept, and although I do not own a copy myself, I would love to buy one for one of my current clients. Just be the first to email me regarding this post.

The Knot Best of Weddings

What an honor to be named as one of the best wedding photographers in Pittsburgh!

From the article:
"Creative, tender, engaging, trendy, classy, artistic, energetic, and sincere" are just some of the words brides have used to describe their experiences with this Pittsburgh photographer. Just one meeting with her and you'll see how "amazing" she is."

I love my job (which never feels like work) and am grateful beyond measure to my wonderful clients. Thank You!!
