The first ever Burkeshop was a blast, I had so much fun! We had a great group of folks of varying skill levels who were eager to learn more about photography. We started the day by reviewing equipment and exposure. Then we photographed David's newborn daughter Chyler and spent the rest of the day playing, I mean working, in Lightroom and Photoshop. I think we did a pretty good job of covering everything from the capture to the delivery of products.
Being a supermodel is hard work, one must nap often to rejuvenate.Sweet Chyler was such a willing participate and allowed me to curl her up in several poses so that everyone could practice shooting.
I'd like to give a special thanks to David's wonderful wife Bridget, she is an amazing woman. She gave birth just two short weeks ago, but managed to clean the house, take care of the children, and organize lunch for everyone. Thank you for your hard work and dedication B, you are an inspiration!
PS. After receiving several requests for a Lightroom course, I have finally decided to put one together. Look for more info on the blog within the next week!

Newborn Burkeshop
My very good friend David Burke and I were talking a few weeks ago about putting together a small workshop on newborn photography. And, as luck would have it, his wonderful wife Bridget was 9 months pregnant. Chyler Micah was born on June 15th and I photographed her at just 4 days old.
David and Bridget are wonderful, loving, giving people, and have are graciously opening up their home, and allowing their brand new baby to be photographed, for the Burkeshop.

Maggie & Dustin - Preview
My family and I are on vacation this week (they are actually already there and waiting for me), but I had the pleasure of documenting an amazing wedding yesterday. My original plan was to create a regular blog post before leaving, but I didn't want to rush through anything, I want to take my time and really look at the images. And not just because it was a GORGEOUS day with an outdoor ceremony, or because everything was pink, or because I had a military groom in uniform (all my favorite things), but because Maggie is truly a very special person.Maggie's family is also very warm, I had several splendid conversations with her father (pictured above). His name is John, but he goes by Jack (like Kennedy). So I called him John Jack. Never really understood why Jack was a nickname for John, but I'm flexible, so I went with it.
These two have a love and affection for one another that is palpable. Spending time with them makes you feel warm and content.
Maggie has an infectious smile that absolutely lights up a room when she enters. As evident by this image captured when they were announced at the reception.
I had such a wonderful time and can't wait to share more images next week! For now, I must be leaving.... my family has a gun to my head telling me it's time to go. Minus the gun.

Michelle & Matt
Michelle and Matt were married at Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church and held their reception at the Greek Orthodox Social Hall in Oakmont.
Image by Craig, isn't Michelle beautiful?!Michelle has such a fun, warm personality, another great capture by Craig.
Lovin' the details.
In case you were wondering, I love pink. So naturally I adored these programs.
Exchange of rings.
There is this wonderful warehouse next to the Greek Social hall. This image was taken by Christine, I documented her marriage to Danny last year.
Love the sexy shots.
I set a slow shutter speed, balanced my camera on the ground and asked Michelle to spin. I love the motion in her dress.I just like the way they were looking at each other.
First dance.
I was so excited to see this sweet, little girl, I photographed her newborn session in December.
Yes, I used that warehouse for all it was worth.
Have an amazing time in Hawaii, guys!

Alisha and Tony
Alisha and Tony were married at Third Presbyterian Church in Shadyside, and held their reception at Fox Chapel Golf Club.
Alisha's gown was absolutely stunning.
She has this beautiful chandelier in her bedroom and I thought it would be fun to hang the shoes amidst the gems. When you arrive to details such as this, you know it's going to be a great day.
Finally, the bride!
The wind was playing with Alisha's veil, which was lucky for me!Everything that Alisha choose for her wedding matched my style perfectly. If I were to plan my dream wedding (again), it would look just like this.
A classic portrait.
Craig took this image just before walking down the aisle.
Outside the church.Oh my gosh, it's a Weddings by Heather dream! Gorgeous pink flowers, dresses and a cute dog!
The weather was absolutely glorious.
Craig captured this beautiful image of Alisha. The beautiful grounds of Fox Chapel Golf Club.
A quiet moment.
Again, the cake fits me perfectly, I love the pink fondant.
Alisha's florist did an amazing job, the arrangements were stunning.
Alisha's second gown had pink accents! I was lovin' life!
Alisha & Tony, thank you for including me in your day, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed myself!
