7 Day Old Newborn

And he smiled! I think he likes me!

He wasn't crazy about my hat, but he tolerated it just long enough for me to get this image.

This sweet little angel belongs to Vanessa and Erik, I had the privilege of documenting their wedding in 2007. I was moved to tears when I arrived and saw my images used as art throughout their home. Such a great feeling.

Nothing will melt your heart faster than watching a new father with his baby.

Except maybe when you see the new mother with her baby.

I just adore this family and cannot thank them enough for their kindness, and the opportunity to be a part of their lives.

Sue & Joel

Sue and Joel were married at Sts. John and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Sewickley and held their reception at Pittsburgh's Grand Hall at the Priory.

I was thrilled to have Craig back with me, he captured this of Sue and her family.

He's not only a wonderful assistant (he takes care of EVERYTHING that I need), he's a good photographer in his own right. He caught this image of Sue using his favorite lens: 70-200mm f/2.8L IS.

What a glorious spring day, the weather could not have been more perfect.

We also had a new assistant-in-training with us, her name is Christy and I asked her to grab a few behind the scenes shots for me.

The resulting shot.

How lucky am I? Sue is a warm person with a beautiful smile.

This was a shot I just grabbed as we were quickly walking down the street and I love it.

The ladies.

Another wonderful moment captured by Craig.

Another gorgeous wedding at Pittsburgh's Grand Hall.

Both the best man and maid of honor gave moving toasts with lots of laughter.

While I captured the image above, Craig caught the reaction of Sue's mom below.

Traci & Jon - Slideshow

I wasn't sure if I was going to post slideshows this year, but after receiving some feedback, I realized that clients really enjoy seeing more of their images. I also picked up some new royalty free music that I think is pretty cool. Special thanks to Eric from Schiemer Entertainment, for helping me cut several tracks.

Dancing Queen

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Dancing Queen gets me every. single. time. The first set of images below were captured by Kimberly Reed when we shot together a few weeks ago. In the first two I am clearly composed. In the second two, well, I don't have an explanation other than Dancing Queen.

My good friend David Burke shot this image of me rocking my song in 2006. (I'm not sure, but I think Cory Ann is making fun of me, I can tell by her smirk). I've had clients actually request this song just to watch me lose control. And whenever I work with Eric from Schiemer Entertainment, he likes to mess with me as well.

In 2005 I had the honor of working with Huy from f8 Studio in Dallas when the very talented Chris Jones from Mason Jar Films caught me on video. Check out this tiny video clip of me dancing. Oh my. I was supposed to be directing the light where Huy needed it, but I became a little distracted when my song started playing.

I LOVE MY JOB.

The Knot Best Of Weddings 2009

Wow, what an honor to once again be named as one of The BEST Wedding Photographers in Pittsburgh!!

Really, I find this type of recognition to be crazy... I have such a passion for weddings, and I'm just doing what I love. The fact that people wish to pay me is a BONUS! I remember attending a wedding years ago with my family when I said to my mom (after dancing all night), "wouldn't it be awesome if I had a job in this industry so that I could attend weddings every weekend?" It's true what they say, you have to dream it to live it.

I owe my success to my wonderfully supportive husband and family, without them, I certainly would not have been brave enough to pursue my passion. I see so many people unhappy in their careers, I wish that everyone would follow their dreams because I know how amazing it is to be living mine!

Sharon & Jason

I had the privilege of shooting with the fabulous Kimberly Reed this past weekend! Isn't she a doll? She has the most wonderful personality and was so much fun to work with, I cannot thank her enough for asking me to tag along.

Sharon and Jason were married, and held their reception, at Twelve Oaks Mansion in Mars, PA.

It was a beautiful, but very windy, day!

Sharon and Jason saw each other prior to the ceremony and, as a result, we were able to get a ton of great photographs and they were able to enjoy their cocktail hour!

Different type of processing for me, I've been experimenting quite a bit lately. Let me know what you think.

A moment during the ceremony, I had a great angle.

I could say something very introspective here, something about how I love to get in close to capture the eyes as they are the window to the soul... etc. But here's the thing, I'm not that deep. I take these types of photographs because I think that they are pretty. Heather = simple. Ha.

Traci & Jon

Traci and Jon were married, and held their reception, at The Mayernik Center in Avonworth. Traci was such a beautiful, easy bride and obviously very photogenic!

I loved Traci's beautiful spring color palette.

It rained almost the entire week leading up to the wedding, but Saturday was perfect!

Seeing his bride for the first time.

Outdoor ceremonies are great because you have a little more room to move around to get shots like this during the vows. And the lighting is wonderful as well.

Parents of the bride watch on.

We found some really cool places to shoot in the wooded area surrounding the park.

So relaxed...

I asked Traci if she watches America's Next Top Model because she knew exactly how to pose. I think every bride should watch that show.

Traci's florist did an amazing job transforming the room, these were the centerpieces and they were so pretty.

Special thanks to Tina for traveling from Philadelphia to assist me.
